My Story-

My roots in health and nutrition run deep. I grew up with parents who studied holistic healing and nutrition under a naturopathic physician and were decades ahead of their time in adopting a whole foods-plant based diet over 40 years ago. We were healthy, rarely got sick and excelled in school. This healthy lifestyle powered me through years of dance and honors classes but in college everything changed.

Living on campus without a kitchen or access to my mom’s healthy foods I quickly gained weight eating out on campus every meal, eating late and reaching for convenient, unhealthy options. I found myself in my mid 20’s with 1 teaching degree, 1 counseling degree and many pounds heavier, feeling depressed and not at all like myself. I knew I needed to take control of my health! So, I reconnected with all the foods I grew up with; more vegetables, beans and lentils, nuts, fruits and seeds and less processed fast foods. I started teaching myself to cook, so these foods would be accessible, affordable and DELICIOUS! I gradually lost weight and started to feel better.

My studies in nutrition really took off when I became pregnant with our first child and continued as I nursed and started preparing food for my baby. I was reading everything I could, cooking more and experimenting with all kinds of plants to create the most nutrient packed meals for our growing family. Yes, I became slightly obsessed with nutrition! Now 16 years later we have 4 children, who absolutely thrive on a whole foods plant based diet. They are learning all about the wonders of nutritious foods, how to prepare them and how different foods make them feel. We garden, we juice, we make smoothies and cook together, we travel, we hike, we dance, we pray and we play together! I am hoping to raise these children with their own guiding light and wisdom on how to nourish their bodies in all stages of life. In 2016, I graduated as a Certified Health Coach from Dr. Sears’ Wellness Institute specializing in Families with Children AND Prime-Time Health which focuses on fighting inflammation and creating vibrant health in your second half of life.

Now as a Certified Health Coach I provide education and support on the many facets of a healthy lifestyle while introducing delicious, practical, and nutritious foods. It is my honor to help each client on their own journey to optimal health and wellness through empowerment, education and encouragement!
